February 23, 2024 marked another milestone as I conducted an engaging seminar revolving around foundation Draping techniques for eager minds seeking degrees related to Fashion Merchandising and Design at none other than renowned academic hub—Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University—with veteran collaborator, Erika Yuille, providing additional insight every step of the way.
Nestled within the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountain range lies the town of Blacksburg, part of Montgomery County in Virginia's scenic New River Valley. Here, at Virginia Tech University’s main campus, students can pursue their passion for fashion at the Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management Department with its esteemed Fashion Merchandising and Design Program.
I extend my sincerest appreciation to Erika M. Yuille, Professor Sarah Wilmot, and Dr. Jessica Pattison for their unwavering commitment to the successful execution of the Fashion Draping Seminar. Their involvement in enlightening fourteen talented students on the basic principles of fashion foundation draping utilizing the textbook that I authored, Draping Basics, has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of fashion designers.
